About

You can change the worldSo you work . . . and your job takes up the majority of your time. It’s 8-5 most days, and perhaps even more hours than that. By the time you get home, you’re pretty much done for the day and you don’t have high levels of energy to spare.

In today’s world, the economy often necessitates both partners working, if you’re married. Even if you aren’t married, most of your waking hours are probably taken up with your vocation.

So you work, but you’re also a believer. You know that Jesus’ final words, His resounding call to His followers, was to “preach the Gospel” – to go and share His love and truth with all nations. He promised that He would be with you as you did so. You look at your crammed schedule and you ask, “What time do I have to go and preach the Gospel?”

Perhaps that is a feeling you constantly have, a burden making you feel weary under its weight. It is something on your “to-do” list that never gets done. Or perhaps it’s something you’ve never really given much thought to at all. Well, if you haven’t, we encourage you to do so. It was, after all, the greatest commission and call we’ve ever been given, to spread that message – the Gospel, the Good News – with those who have not yet heard it.

“But what extra time do I have?” you might ask. “My work takes up all my time, my attention, my focus. And beyond that, there really isn’t much of me left.”

We’re glad you asked!

Welcome to Workplace Worldchangers, where our goal is to enable you to change the world right there from your office chair (or wherever you might be working).

Whether you encounter hundreds of people on a daily basis in your line of work, or see the same people day in and day out for years; whether you work with children or adults, troubled people or those who seem to have their act together; whether you work with people on a superficial basis and don’t know how you could ever approach the topic of faith or you are a counselor and delve deeply into people’s lives – Workplace Worldchangers is dedicated to enabling you to reach out and spread Christ’s message of love, truth and hope to a world that is seeming to grow more hopeless by the day.

You don’t even need to be in a traditional workplace. Maybe you work from home but have a lot of interaction with people on the web through email or social networks. Perhaps you are a student and attend college and you’re not even working yet, but you meet a lot of other students and interact with them in classes. Perhaps you’re “nothing more than” a stay-at-home mom and feel you don’t interact much with anyone who understands more than the ABCs and the theme song for Spongebob.

Wherever you are, and whatever you do, there is a purpose and plan for you, and there is so much that you can do in reaching out to others. On this blog, you will read stories and true testimonies from those who have discovered ways to share their faith in the workplace. You will receive tips, how-to’s, ideas, and resources to enable you to be a “Workplace Worldchanger.” You will read anecdotes, narratives, and quotes that are chosen to empower and envision you to change the world, and that will serve as reminders of why we want to reach out to others in this way.

Choosing to be any sort of worldchanger is not an easy thing to do. It requires time and focus. It necessitates reaching beyond the boundaries of comfort and capability . . . speaking to that coworker who might laugh at your mention of faith, or the business partner whose life is in shambles, or that person who just sat down next to you who looks like she cried a pool of tears. But you can do it!

Believe that you have it within you to change someone’s life and change their entire world – the world that surrounds them – because you have the “Light of the world” shining from within your heart. You can show them the doorway from death into life, from misery into joy, from despair into hope, from meaningless existence into a life of reason and purpose, from hate into a life of love.

Jesus has given us this promise: “If I be lifted up, I will draw all men unto me.”

Here at the blog of Workplace Worldchangers, the focus is lifting Christ up, and letting Him do the work of touching hearts, healing lives . . . and changing the world.
